Skjeljavika is a small, family-run place on Norway’s north-western coast. We live where mountain, sea and islands meet, with quiet evenings, big views, and friendly Icelandic horses grazing around the farm.
Cabins by the sea
We offer three cozy cabins as a calm base for couples, families, and small groups. Each has the essentials for a comfortable stay and fast Wi-Fi, with nature right outside the door.
Boat & fishing
Guests can rent our sturdy aluminum boat Kværnø 585 with Yamaha 115 hp and Garmin UHD 92sv fish finder – ideal for cod, coalfish and more, or just sightseeing between islands.
The boat is moored in the local marina about 2.5 km from the cabins. We’re a registered tourist fishing camp, so visitors can fish legally in Norway and bring catch home within the official rules. Basic filleting setup and freezer space are available.
Horses & farm life
We breed Icelandic horses and love to share the calm, steady spirit of the breed. When available, we offer relaxed, weather-safe rides and meet-the-horses moments.
Day trips & hikes
Skjeljavika is a good starting point for classic West-Norway routes: Ålesund, Geiranger, Trollstigen (Troll Road) and the Atlantic Ocean Road among others. If you prefer quieter days, ask us for local hikes – from short viewpoint walks to airy ridge trails.
Whether you come for fishing, horses, or slow mornings by the fjord, Skjeljavika is made for simple, memorable days in nature. We’re happy to help plan your stay.

We breed, raise and train Icelandic horces. Every year 3-5 foals are given birth here. Are you interested in horse riding and maybe even getting yourself a horse don’t hesitate to make contact. We also have stable boxes for rent if you have your own horse.
Icelandic horses bred here are known to be kind and very well raised. We will ensure you find exactly what you are looking for.
The Icelandic horses are loved by all honored to meet and get to know a member of its species. They are considered more curious, intelligent, kind and independent than other horse breeds.
